Menopause & Mental Health
Perimenopause symptoms can occur up to 10 years before you go through menopause (when you have your last bleed), so you could be experiencing new anxiety, stress or a feeling of burnout in your late thirties/early forties, which you may not have connected with menopause.
Common symptoms are increased anxiety and low mood, problems remembering things/names/appointments, a feeling of loss of confidence and low self-esteem. You may find that you have a short fuse or a sense of rage or anger. It could be that you are experiencing relationship difficulties.
Menopause can be a time of reevaluating our lives and our sense of self and identity.
Going through perimenopause and menopause can feel isolating, and talking therapy can help you navigate your menopause journey the way you want.
I offer one to one individual therapy for people looking for support as they go through perimenopause or menopause.
Alongside this I have experience running support groups and workshops for fellow counsellors and psychotherapists around Menopause & Mental Health. I am also going through menopause myself.
